Book Review: Looking For Alaska

Looking For Alaska by John Green

Looking For Alaska is the 1st John Green book I read. A very special friend gave it to me because he wanted to give me something for the summer. Haha. 🙂

Anyways, as I read the 1st chapter, i found myself finished with the book in less than a day. It’s that good. As in like, beautiful and very inspirational. The book is about Miles Halter, or “Pudge” transferring to a new school and having new friends. His roommate introduced him to the most beautiful girl he ever laid eyes on, Alaska Young. The circle of friends did it all together: camping in barns, pranking the principal, and others. After one accident, Pudge was torn to pieces. Alaska was found dead inside of her car after leaving the school with the help of Pudge, Lara, and The Colonel. After holding a funeral for her, the three investigated the cause of her death. After finding out why she drove away the school, they never knew the answer if her death was an accident, or a suicide. Still, no one knows. Instead, they did a prank, a prank one of Alaska’s ideas, and decided to do it in memory of Alaska. Through all the drinking, smoking and all the bad influences, Pudge still loved Alaska, dead or not…

I would recommend this book, but this isn’t for kids due to inappropriate scenes and language.

If people were rain, I was drizzle, and she was a hurricane. -John Green
